Matthew Conklin

Associate Counselor

M.A.

Matthew holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and serves as the Group Coordinator at Connection Therapy Group. He facilitates several weekly groups for men struggling with compulsive sexual behavior and provides individual counseling for clients working through addiction, trauma, and relational challenges. Matthew has a strong background in the 12 steps, serving for two years as the leader of a 12‑step program in his church, and he integrates that experience into his work with clients seeking long‑term recovery and accountability. He has training and supervision in CBT and CPT and is passionate about supporting individuals who struggle with addiction and PTSD. Matthew is also working toward certification as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).

About him:

Matthew and his wife, Joy, have been married since 1991 and are the proud parents of four adult children. His most cherished title is “Grandad” to their three grandchildren. He is a U.S. Army veteran who served with 101st Airborne Division during Gulf War.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys sports—particularly baseball and football—spending time in nature, and reading widely across history and science. He is also deeply familiar with Middle Tennessee’s Civil War history and could easily serve as a tour guide on the local battlefields.
